DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The instructor will provide behind-the-wheel instruction and classroom orientation (as needed) to refugee and asylee clients.
2. The instructor makes sure that each trainee gets a full hour of driving lesson and another hour of driving observation.
3. If a student does not show up the instructor is responsible to call the client and find out his/her reasons not for showing up and report the no show and call the next trainee.
4. The instructor has to write a comment of the student’s progress and/or weakness at the end of each lesson.
5. The instructor has to give a student a pre exam before he recommends one for the road exam at the DPS.
6. The instructor takes students to the DPS twice a week, on Wednesdays and
Fridays. Four students are taken each day.
Normal training schedule resumes after 2:00 pm.
7. The instructor is expected to work closely with the department’s coordinator and case worker by reporting each and every student’s progress and or weakness.
8. The instructor is expected to make sure that all driving records are handled with care and all comments are written clearly and brief.
9. The instructor is expected to treat all students cordially
10. Maintain periodic checks of the training vehicles.
11. Bring into the attention of the concerned department the expiration dates of stickers and registration including insurance expiration date.
12. Discuss any problem which may encounter with clients on time and come up with a solution and suggestions.
13. Time is of essence and must be kept seriously.
14. Manage day to day duty.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma, higher education A+
2. Possess Texas drivers license and driven for more than five years
3. Taken a state required courses
4. Should have a state accredited driving instructor’s license
5. Pass a criminal background and a driving record check
